Ahead of the forthcoming PDP guber primary, the Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deepseaport, Mr. Akan Okon has resigned.
Credible sources at Government House told newsmen that Akan Okon submitted his resignation letter at about pass 9am on Monday to the governor through his confidential secretary, Mrs Imaobong Sylvester Okon better known in government circle as “Aunty Imaobong”.
The governor returned from the International Women’s Day Celebration to his office only to be greeted with the resignation letter from his friend of over 3 decades.
Akan Okon held a thanksgiving service yesterday.
