Prior to becoming the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III was a boxer.
Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III was crowned the Alaafin of Oyo on November 18, 1970 during the administration of Colonel Robert Adeyinka Adebayo.
