In October 2020, Ibrahim Kurami was elected to represent Bakori Local Government Area in Katsina State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He was elected to replace Alhaji Abdurrazak Ismail Tsiga.
Ibrahim Kurami secured 20,444 votes as against his closest rival Alhaji Aminu Magaji of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who secured 11,356 votes.

Ibrahim Kurami was married to two wives, 11 children, and three grandchildren. He was a Muslim from Kastina state.

Ibrahim Kurami died on October 10, 2022 after a brief illness in Madinah, Saudi Arabia
