Naja’atu Muhammad had her elementary education at St. Louis Private School, Kano, before proceeding to WTC Secondary School in the same state for her secondary education. She then headed to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to obtain a degree in History.
Career
Naja’atu Bala Muhammad is a Nigerian Politician and Activist. She was a member of the All Progressive Congress(APC), The outspoken politician is the first woman to serve as the president of the National Students Union at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and also the first female Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students.
She has been a steady critic of the government and its responsibilities. In 2018, Naja’atu was appointed as a Commissioner at the Police Service Commission by President Muhammadu Buhari. Naja’atu started her political career when she was an undergraduate at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she was elected president of the institution’s student union government.
Again she contested for the vice president of the national student body, the National Association of Nigerian Students, and won. She was the first female to occupy the office. Naja’atu began her professional political career in 2007 when the APC nominated her to represent Kano Central Senatorial District at the national assembly. In 2022, she was appointed as the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council Director.
Naja’atu headed the Civil Society Liaison wing of the council. And she resigned from her position as a director in 2023, stating that current developments in the political and democratic atmosphere of the country are not conducive enough for her to serve in that capacity.
Controversies
The Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC responded to the resignation of Naja’atu Mohammed, saying she was sacked for incompetence and being a mole in the party and he added that her desperate, fact-free, and imaginary utterances since her being sacked from the campaign council had proved beyond doubt that she was unfit to serve in the first place until it was discovered that she was a mole. Countering what she said about resigning, he said she was sacked over incompetence. And she has been paid to concoct lies against the party to which she was once loyal.

Naja’atu Muhammad was born into the family of Alhaji Ali Abdullahi, a renowned socialist and a subordinate of the late Mallam Aminu Kano in the Northern Elements Progressive Union. She was married to Dr. Bala Muhammed, a political adviser to Second Republic Governor Abubakar of the Second Republic. When Abubakar Rimi was in power, her husband was murdered during the years 1982 and 1983 by a crowd that sparked a spree following an inquiry that was made by Governor Abubakar Rimi to the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero. It is believed she is blessed with children.
