American singer-songwriter SZA plays a washed-out R&B genre, influenced by avant-garde jazz, alternative rock, and hardcore rap. Solana Imani Rowe , such her real name, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 8, 1990; She grew up in New Jersey where she excelled as a gymnast and cheerleader in high school.
