He was born on the 27th of November 1967, and he spent part of his childhood in Lagos and Kwara, with some part of his adulthood in the same place he is from, which is Mushin, Lagos State. He was single-handedly raised by his mother, Alhaja Adijat Kubura Odetola. Pasuma has never been married but has 10 children (8 girls and 2 boys) from three women.

Educational Background
Pasuma attended a Muslim mission primary school in 1973 and in 1979 he moved with his family to Kwara State where he attended Nigerian Model High School for his secondary school education. He started his music career when he was still in secondary school. While others would be participating in sports activities, Pasuma and some of his friends would be somewhere singing. He also did not attend any tertiary Institution.
Career
Pasuma started writing his songs in 1984, and his role model was K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma released his first album titled TALAZO 84 in 1984. The album, which received huge credits from fans, pushed Pasuma into doing more.
Pasuma released his official first music album in 1993, he has since then released over 30 albums, going on to become one of the most successful Fuji musicians in Nigeria. Pasuma has also collaborated with several recording artists, like Bola Abimbola and King Sunny Ade.
Asides from singing, he has also featured in some Nigerian movies such as Iyanje and Alenibare. On the 6th of September 2015, Pasuma emerged as the winner of Best Indigenous Artist of the year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, he also won Best International Music Video 2021 at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards).

Controversies
Pasuma and Saheed Osupa were intimate friends before they both parted ways as a result of allegations coming from Osupa over Pasuma stealing his intellectual properties without acknowledgment which is always better composed by Pasuma.
After several efforts from Saheed Osupa to stop Pasuma from such an unprofessional attitude proved abortive, he started singing abusive lyrics to tarnish Pasuma’s image as a self-acclaimed Fuji star. The dispute continued with a lot of controversies in their career and among fans.
