He studied at Plateau State Polytechnic and Indiana University in the United States, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology and a Master’s degree in Industrial Technology.
Abdullahi Sule co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited, which later acquired African Petroleum (AP) Plc, and he became the CEO of AP in 2001. In 2019, he was elected as the governor of Nasarawa State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Educational Background
After completing his primary education at Roman Catholic Mission (RMC) Primary School, Gudi Station, Abdullahi Sule enrolled in Zang Secondary School in 1974 and later Government Technical College, Bukuru in 1977. He proceeded to Plateau State Polytechnic in Barkin Ladi in 1980 and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology and a Master’s degree in Industrial Technology from Indiana University in the United States.
Career
After his education, Abdullahi Sule worked as a youth corps member with Plateau Utilities Board before joining the Jos Steel Rolling Mill as a Production Engineer. He later moved to the United States, where he worked for several companies, including Lancer Corporation, OEM Component, and Osyka Corporation.
He co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited on his return to Nigeria in 2000 and was made the managing director/CEO. Sule won the gubernatorial primaries for Nasarawa State of the All Progressives Congress in October 2018 and was declared the governor-elect of Nasarawa State in March 2019. He was sworn in on May 29, 2019, and re-elected for a second term in 2023 with a total of 347,209 votes.
Controversies
There is controversy surrounding the 2019 Nasarawa gubernatorial election in which Sule was declared the winner. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) disputed the outcome, expressing dissatisfaction with the declared results and promising to seek legal redress.
Also on the night of January 26th, 2023, Hassan Sule, the son of Governor Abdullahi Sule, passed away. In a statement, the governor expressed his condolences to his family and prayed for Allah to give them the strength to bear the loss.
