Emem Nnanna Usoro is a Nigerian banker and a former executive director of UBA Plc. She was appointed the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in September 2023. Emem Nnanna Usoro was born in Akwa Ibom.

Educational Background

Emem Usoro obtained a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Uyo in 1996 and a Masters in Business Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1997.

She attended a Senior Management Program at Lagos Business School, Pam African University in 2007.

Emem Usoro attended a Strategic Marketing Management program and and General Management program at Harvard business School in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

She is an Alumus of University of Pretoria and Harvard Business School.

Career

Emem Nnanna Usoro started her career at the defunct Bank PHB in 2004. She was a branch manager from 2004 to 2007 and a Zonal Head from 2007 to 2009.

In 2009, she became the Regional Executive, Victoria Island Region at Bank PHB.

Emem Usoro joined United Bank for Africa, UBA as a Regional Bank Head in 2010. She was the regional Bank Head in Akwa Ibom and Abuja between 2010 and 2013.

Emem Usoro was the Directorate Head Abuja Bank at UBA from 2014 to 2016.

She was promoted to the Regional Director, Lagos Island 2 in 2016 and in 2020 she was the Directorate Head Abuja Bank.

In 2021, Emem Usoro was promoted to the the Directorate Head , Abuja and North Central.

In August 2022, she became an Executive Director at UBA.

Emem Usoro was appointed as a Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by president Bola Tinubu in September 2023.

Emem Usoro is married with children. She is from Akwa Ibom.
