Robinhood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla also known as Robin Padilla is a Filipino politician, actor and television personality. He is currently serving as a senator in the Filipino Senate since June 2022. Robin Padilla was born on November 23, 1969 in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines.

Robin Padilla attended Saint Louis University Boys’ High School and Philippine College of Criminology (BS).
Acting Career
Robin Padilla made his debut in the 1985 comedy film “Public Enemy No. 2: Maraming Number Two,” followed by lead roles in the highly successful movies “Maging Sino Ka Man” and “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum” in 1991.

He faced a filming accident during “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum” that resulted in burns and scars. Padilla wrote and starred in the 1996 film “Anak, Pagsubok Lamang,” shot primarily inside the New Bilibid Prison where he was once incarcerated.
Throughout his career, he worked with both ABS-CBN and GMA Network, appearing in various TV shows and films, earning recognition and awards for his performances. He returned to ABS-CBN in 2015 as a judge on “Pilipinas Got Talent.”
Political Career
On October 8, 2021, Robin Padilla officially entered the senatorial race as a candidate under PDP–Laban for the 2022 election. His campaign focused on advocating for anti-criminality measures, a tough stance against illegal drugs, the implementation of federalism, and the promotion of community policing.
Robin Padilla also expressed his opposition to providing tax incentives to foreign investors and aimed to increase the minimum income of Filipino families to encourage Overseas Filipino Workers to return home. He mentioned his intention to hire lawyers to assist in drafting laws if elected.
Robin Padilla emerged victorious in the election and attributed his win to his platform on federalism rather than just his celebrity status. He received support from Senator Win Gatchalian, who recognized Padilla as a representative for Muslims.
Robin Padilla announced his collaboration with lawyer Salvador Panelo to fulfill his duties as a senator. In the 19th Congress, Padilla voted for Juan Miguel Zubiri as Senate President and abstained from the election of Joel Villanueva as Senate Majority Leader.
Currently, Robin Padilla serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, as well as the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs.

In 2010, he got married to his second wife Mariel Rodriguez. He has five children from both marriages.
