Career
Chief Olayide Adelami had an illustrious career in the Federal Civil Service, starting as an Accountant II in 1983. He played a significant role in setting up the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly. Adelami’s career included positions in various departments, such as the Petroleum Special Trust Fund and the Family Support Trust Fund. He served as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
Adelami is a fellow of several professional bodies, including the Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI), and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountant (FCMA).
He is actively involved in philanthropic and humanitarian activities. Adelami established the Elizabeth Foundation in 2004 to assist widows and orphans in Owo and Abuja. He donated relief materials to internally displaced persons during unrest in Jos and supported missionary fields and the School of the Blind in Gindiri, Plateau state.
