Born in 2003 to Mr. and Mrs. Aluko, Taves, originally known as Toluwanimi Aluko, was born in a private hospital in Port Harcourt and raised in the vibrant city of Ibadan, he spent his formative years in Oyo State. Throughout his upbringing, Taves was affectionately referred to as “Tolu” by his family members and close friends.

Taves pursued his elementary and secondary education in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he completed his academic journey. Graduating from high school in 2019, he achieved commendable grades in his O’Levels.
CAREER
Taves‘ journey to stardom kicked off in May 2022 with a cover of BNXN fka Buju‘s hit song, To Your Ears. Sharing his rendition on social media, the video spread like wildfire, attracting thousands of views and catching the attention of BNXN himself. Impressed by Taves‘ talent, Buju expressed interest in a future collaboration.In April 2023, Taves made waves again with his cover of Lojay‘s Moto. Responding to fan demand, Taves released his original single, Eleyele, in June 2023, paying homage to his hometown. The track quickly gained traction, establishing Taves as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.
Taves dropped the official music video for Eleyele in January 2024, teasing his upcoming single, Folake.
