In November 2007, Adesola joined Africa Finance Corporation as the Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager, later securing an investment grade international credit rating for the institution.

Adesola joined FirstBank in July 2014 as an Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer. He rose to become the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in January 2016, overseeing operations across various subsidiaries. Throughout his career, Adesola received accolades such as the Banker of the Year 2016 and the African Banking Personality of the Year 2019.
