|Oba Sir Musendiku Buraimoh Adeniji Adele II was the Oba (King) of Lagos from 1 October 1949 to 12 July 1964. He was born in Lagos in 1893 to Buraimoh Adele and Moriamo Lalugbi. His grandfather was Oba Adele Ajosun.

Educational Background
He attended Holy Trinity Primary School, Ebutte-Ero, and later CMS Grammar School, Lagos.
Career
After completing his secondary education, he joined the colonial service as a trainee surveyor. He served as a land surveyor with the Cameroon Expeditionary Force during World War I. Later, he worked with the treasury department and became a chief clerk in 1937.
Controversies
Recently in May 2024, the Lagos State Government announced plans to remove over 100 shanties at Adeniji Adele under the bridge. This move was disclosed by the State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab.
Oba Adele II was a supporter of the Nigerian Youth Movement and a member of Egbe Omo Oduduwa led by Obafemi Awolowo. His political affiliation was in opposition to the ruling NCNC/NNDP. The NNDP, founded by Herbert Macaulay and later led by Nnamdi Azikiwe, opposed Oba Adele’s ascension to the throne. They filed legal challenges to thwart his coronation, but his right to the throne was sustained by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in England in 1957.

Oba Sir Musendiku Buraimoh Adeniji Adele II passed away on July 12, 1964, in Lagos, Nigeria. He was 71 years old at the time of his death.
