Ahmed Refaat started his career playing for ENPPI. In 2016, he joined Zamalek, to be loaned back to ENPPI in 2019, then to Al Ittihad. In November 2020, he transferred to Al Masry. In October 2021, he transferred to Future. Refaat also represented Egypt at both youth and senior teams. He was part of the winning squad of the 2013 African U-20 Championship, and played at the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.
CONTROVERSIES
On 11 March 2024, during a local league match played by his team, Modern Future and Al Ittihad, the player lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. Refaat had suffered a heart attack due to a rare medical condition, and regained consciousness a week later.
