Death

In 2020, Captain Singh led a daring rescue mission to save fellow soldiers trapped in an avalanche. Despite the perilous circumstances, he selflessly risked his life to ensure their safety. Tragically, he lost his own life during this heroic act, leaving behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice. Captain Anshuman Singh was cremated with full state honors in Bhagalpur, Uttar Pradesh, on July 22, 2023. He was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award, for his exceptional bravery.
