Born on September 19, 1985, in Ormond Beach, Florida, Chase Rice grew up in a family that later relocated to a farm in Asheville, North Carolina. His parents, Daniel and Connie Rice, and his siblings, Casey and Chad, were significant parts of his life. His Father died in 2008.

He attended A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville and went on to play linebacker for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s football team.
