Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, popularly known as Muri, was born on February 13, 1978, into a noble and respected family.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He began his early education at the Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) Primary School in Kogi State. Afterward, he completed his primary education at the Federal Polytechnic Staff School in Idah.Ajaka continued his education at the prestigious Barewa College in Zaria. He then enrolled at the University of Abuja, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Sociology.
CAREER
He began his political journey as the Deputy State Secretary of the now-defunct Action Congress (AC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter. In December 2006, he was appointed as the National Assembly Liaison Officer for the Action Congress. His political acumen became evident during the merging process of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013, where he was appointed the Coordinator of one of the merger committees.
Muri’s competence led to his appointment as the pioneer Head of Protocol for the APC in 2023. This was followed by his role as Special Assistant to the National Secretary in 2024. His rising influence in the party was further recognized when he was appointed Special Adviser to the National Chairman of APC in 2020.
On March 26, 2022, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka was elected unopposed as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary at the National Convention of the APC.
Apart from his political roles, he chairs the boards of Yakubens Nigeria Ltd and MMB Petroleum and Chemical Company Ltd, showcasing his involvement in the business sector as well.
