Born in Kastina State, Nigeria, His grandfather, Iyan Katsina Zakari, was a celebrated warrior, while his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Mashi, served as a revered Middle School Headmaster and later held the traditional titles of Iyan Katsina and Talban Katsina.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

He began his formal education at the Provincial Secondary School in Katsina (1957–1962), where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic abilities. He pursued higher education at Bayero University, Kano, earning a Bachelor’s degree (1969–1972).
