Maffeo began his football journey at FC Levante Las Planas in 2002 before joining RCD Espanyol’s youth academy in 2003. He progressed quickly through the ranks and made his debut for Espanyol B on April 7, 2013, at just 15 years old in a Segunda División B match against CE Constància.
