Fiokee’s journey in music began at a young age in the church choir, where he learned solfège notation. Although he initially received guitar lessons from a taxi driver, financial constraints forced him to quit. However, his passion for music persisted, and in 2008, he moved to Lagos to compete in the Star Quest reality TV music competition. He emerged as a winner alongside his group, Diamonds.
Following his success on Star Quest, Fiokee quickly rose to prominence as a guitarist, contributing to major hit songs such as Simisola by Simi, Thankful by Flavour, God Over Everything by Patoranking, Woju by Kizz Daniel, and Ferrari by Yemi Alade. His distinctive guitar style, which incorporates highlife elements, rapid thrills, legato techniques, and octave movements, has set him apart in the industry.
In 2016, Fiokee launched his record label, Fiokee Records, to further his music career and support emerging artists. On January 14, 2022, he released his debut album, MAN, featuring collaborations with several renowned Nigerian artists.

Fiokee has largely maintained a controversy-free career. However, he recently made headlines when he publicly mourned the tragic passing of his sister, Emma Effanga, who allegedly lost her life due to domestic violence. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he urged people in abusive relationships to speak out and seek help, emphasizing the dangers of suffering in silence.
In 2025, Fiokee’s sister, Emma Effanga, was tragically murdered by a former boyfriend who had previously assaulted and threatened her. Despite ending their relationship, he continued to pressure her. After being asked to leave her shop, he allegedly attacked her at home, strangled her, and stole her belongings. Her absence at church raised concerns, leading to the discovery of her death. The suspect was later arrested while attempting to flee. Fiokee has since used his platform to advocate against domestic violence.
