DeeYasso was born on May 5, 1991, in Taraba State, Nigeria. His passion for music began at a young age, when he started playing drums in his church choir in 1999. As he grew, he expanded his musical abilities to include the guitar and piano, showing a deep interest in sound production and instrumentation.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Despite his love for music, DeeYasso pursued an academic path in law. He studied at the University of Maiduguri from 2010 to 2016 and later attended the Nigerian Law School in Abuja. In due course, he was called to the Nigerian Bar Association as a lawyer and solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
CAREER
DeeYasso’s journey into music production officially began in 2006. However, his big break came when he worked as the producer for Chike’s debut studio album, Boo of the Booless, which was released on February 14, 2020. The album received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2020 Headies Awards.
His influence in the Nigerian music industry grew further when he produced the 2023 chart-topping single Egwu by Chike featuring MohBad, which peaked at number one on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart. This achievement led to his debut on the TurnTable Charts Producer Top 100.
