
Muyiwa Ademola, often called Muyiwa Authentic or Mr. Authentic, is a popular Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director. Born on January 26, 1973, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he has been part of the Nigerian movie industry since 1991. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation, especially in Yoruba-language films. In 2005, his movie “Ori” (which means “Fate”) won the award for Best Indigenous Film at the very first Africa Movie Academy Awards. He was also nominated in 2008 as the Most Outstanding Indigenous Actor at the 4th edition of the awards.

Educational Background

Muyiwa Ademola had his early education in Ibadan at St. David’s High School, Molete, where he earned his West African School Certificate. He later went on to study at the University of Ibadan, where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education.
Career

Muyiwa started his journey into acting with the help of Charles Olumo, popularly known as Agbako, who was based in Abeokuta. He later learned more about acting and filmmaking from a director named S.I Ola.
Muyiwa officially began acting in 1991 and, by 1995, he wrote and produced his first movie titled “Asise” (meaning Blunder), funded by a businessman known as Dibel. Since then, he has starred in, directed, and produced many successful Yoruba movies. In January 2013, Muyiwa survived a serious car accident, an event that he describes as one of the toughest moments of his life. He is currently managed by Adenekan Mayowa.
