Blaise Florence Metreweli born in 1978 is a British intelligence officer who will become the new head of MI6 (the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service) on 1 October 2025. Educational Background
Blaise Metreweli studied anthropology at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Before that, she attended Westminster School in London for her A-levels. While at Cambridge, she was part of the team that won the Women’s Boat Race in 1997.
Career
Metreweli started working with MI6 in 1999 and has been in the intelligence world ever since. She has taken on high-ranking positions, including time at MI5 where she handled counterintelligence against hostile foreign states. As of 2021, she was head of counterintelligence at MI5.
