Educational Background
Imasuen began his education at St. Thomas’ Catholic School in Benin City, Edo State, and completed his secondary education at Edo Boys High School. He studied law at the University of Maiduguri, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. He became a certified Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1985. More recently, Sahara Reporters alleged that Imasuen and Senator Victor Umeh were involved in organizing a meeting where senators were allegedly paid between $5,000 to $10,000 to support a proposal from President Bola Tinubu regarding the Rivers State crisis.
In early 2025, his committee also played a role in the controversial six-month suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, after she accused Senate President Akpabio of sexual misconduct.
