Death
Ibrahim Musa Kontagora died on 7 August 2025 in Abuja after a brief illness. According to family sources, he was admitted at Nizamiye Hospital, where doctors requested full payment of a $30,000 surgery bill before treatment could begin.
The family was only able to deposit $15,000 at the time, and while efforts were made to raise the balance, the surgery was delayed. By the time the payment was completed, it was too late.
Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State and other political figures, including Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, contributed towards the medical expenses. He was laid to rest later that day after Islamic prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja.
