Prince Joseph Okojie was born on 14 March 1964 into the royal family of Prince Moses Okoeguale Okojie of Azagba Umaghele, Uromi, Edo State, Nigeria.

Prince Okojie began his education at Etuno Primary School, Igarra, Akoko-Edo, Edo State, graduating in 1978. He continued at Ugboha Grammar School, Ugboha, where he completed his secondary education in 1983.

He pursued higher education in Estate Management at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State, earning his OND. He later traveled to the United States, where he obtained a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Baltimore, Maryland. Driven by his passion for knowledge, he proceeded to Morgan State University, Baltimore, where he earned a Master’s degree (MBA) in Finance and Management Information Systems.

Prince Okojie’s professional career spans business, finance, and public service.

  • In 1993, he became Managing Partner of Okojie & Associates, Baltimore, Maryland, a role he has held to date.
  • In 1999, he founded Intercom, Baltimore, Maryland, serving as CEO. The company provides cost-effective and flexible solutions for corporate networks in Nigeria and internationally.
  • He worked as a Financial Analyst at John Hancock, Baltimore, Maryland, gaining solid expertise in finance and business management.

His foray into politics began with an appointment as Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Edo State, under Governor Adams Oshiomhole in November 2015. In this role, he:

  • Made Edo State investor-friendly by simplifying the procurement and issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for agro-investors.
  • Facilitated policies that boosted ease of doing business and attracted major agricultural and business investments into the state.

Later, during Governor Godwin Obaseki’s first term, Prince Okojie was appointed Special Adviser on Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Security Programmes.
