Educational Background
Mo Ibrahim was born in Sudan and moved with his family to Alexandria, Egypt, during his childhood. His father worked in the cotton industry, and his mother emphasized the importance of education. Ibrahim earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Alexandria University. He later moved to the UK, where he completed a master’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bradford and a PhD in Mobile Communications at the University of Birmingham.

Hadeel serves on the board of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and is also involved with the Clinton Foundation. Ibrahim is currently married to Jane Ibrahim, with whom he has a son, Sami Ibrahim.
