Educational Background

Fredrick trained at the Simoiben Football Academy, a football school founded by Super Eagles winger Moses Simon. That was where his professional journey began before he moved into club football.
Career

Fredrick started his career with ABS FC ahead of the 2021–22 season. He made his debut for the club in February 2022 and was named Man of the Match.
Later that year, he joined Nigeria Professional Football League side Nasarawa United. During the 2022–23 season, he proved to be reliable in both centre-back and right-back positions.
In August 2023, Brentford signed him on loan with an option to buy. By April 2024, the club made the transfer permanent and offered him a four-year deal. He was first included in Brentford’s first-team squad in January 2024 during an FA Cup game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
On 25 July 2025, he joined Belgian club Dender EH on a one-year loan to gain more playing time and experience. Fredrick represented Nigeria’s U-20 team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where they finished third. He played every minute of the tournament and was later part of the squad for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He made his senior debut for the Super Eagles on 31 May 2025 in a 2–2 draw against Jamaica, which Nigeria later won on penalties.
Controversies

In October 2025, Benjamin Fredrick made headlines when reports surfaced that Bundesliga club RB Leipzig had tabled a €1.5 million bid for his permanent transfer from Brentford. The story caused a stir because Brentford had only recently finalized his permanent deal a few months earlier.
The reported offer also included a 15% sell-on clause, showing that Leipzig sees long-term value in him. While neither Brentford nor Fredrick’s representatives have made an official statement, the rumour has sparked plenty of talk among fans about whether he will leave England so soon after joining.
