AVM Aneke began his early education at Army Children School, New Cantonment A between 1976 and 1982, before proceeding to Government College, Kaduna, where he completed his secondary education in 1987. He was later admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as part of the 40th Regular Combatant Course and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Nigerian Air Force on September 10, 1993.

Before his current appointment as Chief of Air Staff, he was the Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command in Yenagoa, where he strengthened air mobility operations and improved collaboration between air and ground forces.
