Kolade began his professional journey as a broadcaster and eventually became the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). He later served as Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc. In diplomacy, he represented Nigeria as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
He also had a long academic career, teaching Corporate Governance and Human Resources Management at Lagos Business School (LBS), and Leadership & Conflict Management at the School of Media & Communication (SMC), both part of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. He was a former member of the university’s Governing Council, and later became Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of its Governing Council. Kolade also served as Chancellor of McPherson University, Ogun State.
Apart from these roles, he worked to promote business integrity in Nigeria as chairman of organizations such as Integrity Organisation Ltd GTE and The Convention on Business Integrity Ltd GTE.
