Controversies

In February 2026, Nigerian folk musician Segun Akinlolu, popularly known as Beautiful Nubia, accused BBO and gospel singer Yinka Ayefele of copyright infringement. According to him, the melody used in BBO’s song Amin and Ayefele’s My Faith in God was taken from his song Seven Lifes, which he originally composed in 1989 and later released in 1997.
Beautiful Nubia publicly questioned why musicians, particularly gospel artists, do not properly credit original creators. As of the time the allegation became public, BBO had not issued any official response to the claim.
