John Lee Ratcliffe is an American lawyer, politician and intelligence official who has served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) since January 2025. He previously served as the sixth Director of National Intelligence (DNI) from 2020 to 2021 and represented Texas’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015 to 2020. John Lee Ratcliffe was born on October 20, 1965, in Mount Prospect, Illinois, United States. He grew up in Illinois and attended high school in Carbondale, Illinois, graduating from Carbondale Community High School in 1983.
