Owen Omogiafo was born on May 28, 1980, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. She was raised in Benin City as the only daughter in her family.
EDUCATIONAL CAREER
Omogiafo obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin, graduating with double honours. She later earned an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is also an alumna of Lagos Business School and IESE Business School, Spain, and has completed executive education programmes at institutions including IMD Business School. She is a certified Change Manager with the Prosci Institute and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the UK.
CAREER
Omogiafo began her professional career at Accenture, where she worked as an Organisation and Human Performance Consultant, specialising in change management. She later joined United Bank for Africa (UBA), where she served as HR Adviser to the Group Managing Director/CEO.
She subsequently joined Heirs Holdings, where she served as Director of Resources. She later became Chief Operating Officer of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), overseeing its $100 million entrepreneurship programme designed to identify, mentor and fund 10,000 African entrepreneurs over 10 years.
In 2018, she joined Transcorp as Executive Director of Corporate Services. She subsequently became Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, where she oversaw the transformation of the company’s hospitality operations, including Transcorp Hilton Abuja and Transcorp Hotels Calabar.
In March 2020, Omogiafo was appointed President and Group CEO of Transcorp, becoming the first woman and youngest person to occupy the position.
