Educational Background

While in high school, Charlie Kirk was already active in politics, volunteering for Republican Senator Mark Kirk’s campaign. After graduation, he briefly attended Harper College, but dropped out to focus on political activism full-time, encouraged by Tea Party activist Bill Montgomery.
Career

In 2012, at just 18 years old, Kirk launched Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization that grew quickly with support from wealthy donors like Foster Friess. Under his leadership, TPUSA created projects such as the Professor Watchlist and School Board Watchlist, targeting educators with opposing views.
He later founded Turning Point Action in 2019, the political arm of TPUSA, and co-created Turning Point Faith with Pastor Rob McCoy to engage church communities in politics. Kirk also hosted The Charlie Kirk Show, a conservative talk radio and podcast program. Over the years, he became a strong ally of Donald Trump and played an active role in promoting pro-Trump causes and candidates.
Controversies

Kirk was often in the middle of public debates. His critics accused him of spreading misinformation about COVID-19, supporting the Great Replacement conspiracy theory, and pushing false claims of election fraud in 2020.
He also made headlines for his opposition to abortion, LGBTQ rights, and gun control. Some of his most criticized remarks involved questioning parts of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, making controversial comments about Martin Luther King Jr., and openly promoting Christian nationalism.
