Jayden Ikaika Maiava was born on April 6, 2004, in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. He grew up in the Palolo Valley neighborhood of Oahu in a close-knit Polynesian family. His parents are William Maiava-Pratt and Jerushua Maiava-Pratt, and he has several siblings, including Heaven, Siah, Jacob, Justice, Henna, Hyena, and Jaestin.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Jayden attended multiple high schools during his teenage years. He first enrolled at Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, before moving back to Hawaii to play at Kaimuki High School, where he showcased exceptional talent, throwing for more than 3,300 yards and 41 touchdowns in one season. He later returned to Nevada to complete his senior year at Liberty High School in Henderson, leading his team with over 2,000 passing yards and 24 touchdowns.

Jayden redshirted his first season in 2022. In 2023, as a redshirt freshman, he became the starting quarterback. He threw for over 3,085 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, adding 277 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. His stellar play earned him the Mountain West Freshman of the Year award and an All-Mountain West Second Team selection. - USC Trojans (2024–present):
After his breakout year, Jayden transferred to USC in 2024. That season, he played in seven games, starting four. He completed 101 of 169 passes for 1,201 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while also scoring four rushing touchdowns. In his first start against Nebraska, he impressed by throwing three touchdowns and rushing for another. Notably, he became the first Polynesian quarterback to start for USC, marking a historic milestone for the Trojans.
