Biography of Odion Ighalo
|Odion Jude Ighalo was born on June 16, 1989 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a Professional Nigerian footballer. Ighalo is currently on loan at Manchester United from a Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
Club Career
Odion Ighalo started his football career in 2005 playing for Nigerian clubs Prime and Julius Berger. In 2007, Ighalo moved to Lyn, in Norway.
In 2008, he moved to Udinese, but spent most of his stay in Udinese in loan at Granada till 2014 when he moved to English Premier League. Ighalo was signed to Watford.
In 2017, Ighalo joined Chinese Super League Cup playing for Changchun Yatai for £20million. Ighalo later moved to Shanghai Greenland Shenhua where he played till 2020.
On 31st January 2020, Ighalo joined Manchester United on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua till the 2019-2020 end of season.
Ighalo became the first Nigerian player to be transferred to Manchester United.

International Career
Odion Ighalo first featured in the Nigerian team in the 2009 under 20 World Cup. Ighalo made three appearances.
In 2016, Ighalo was named in the 23 man squad for the 2016 but he was unable to make it to the tournament in Brazil.
Ighalo featured for the first time in 2018 World Cup in Brazil. Ighalo made two appearances in the tournament.
In 2019, Ighalo scored 9 goals in the African Cup of Nation in Egypt and clinging to the bronze medal in the tournament.
