Career
In 1999, Patrick Osakwe was elected to the Nigerian senate to represent Delta North Senatorial District under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was elected for a second term in office under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2003.
In 2007, Patrick Osakwe was elected for a third term in office under the platform of Accord Party despite his poor participation in the National Assembly.
He was appointed to committees on Gas, Banking, Insurance & Other Financial Institutions, Appropriation, Niger Delta and Senate Services.
In 2011, Patrick Osakwe lost in his re election but to Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Patrick Osakwe was married with children. He was a Christian from Ugili-Amai in Ndokwa-west L.G.A of Delta State Nigeria.
