Okele had his primary education in Ilorin, Kwara State before relocating to Lagos State to start his acting career.
Career
Okele always loves acting and making people laugh at a tender age. He left Ilorin for Lagos after graduating from Primary School, while he struggled in Lagos to make ends meet, he decided to learn a skill and he chose electronics repairs, and it was the work that led to his decision to start acting.
Okele was an electronics technician and just like Amuda, the man that introduced him to acting, Amuda used to come to his boss’s shop and whenever he is leaving, he will tell them he is going to rehearsal. Okele approached the man one day and told him he was also interested in acting, in 1994/1995.
Okele joined the Amuda group and that was how he started acting, while acting with Amuda he got the name Okele while he was playing a role as the king’s guards in a movie, his name in that movie was Okele, and was how he got the name.
Right from the location, people started calling him Okele, and they stopped calling him his real name. Even after producing his movie, the name is still stuck with him, Okele is not just an actor, he is a movie producer and also an MC and he is so good at what he does.
Controversies
Okele was hospitalized over an unknown ailment in 2021. His colleague, Saliu Gbolagade aka Ogbuleke, shared the news on social media. Ogbuleke disclosed in a video, showing the sick Nollywood star with IV tubes in his hand and a nasogastric tube attached to his nose.
Ogbuleke said he didn’t make the clip to beg for money but to let some of their colleagues stop thinking actors lie about sickness to avoid coming to the location. People thought he was seriously ill but Okele is now alright and still making waves in the Yoruba movie industry.
