Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto attended Magaji Rafi Model Primary School, Sokoto from 1977 to 1983 and Government Secondary School, Yabo from 1983 to 1989.
He attended College of Administration of the Polytechnic of Sokoto State where he obtained a Clerical Officers Certificate (Accounts and Audit) in 1991 and a Professional Diploma in Public Accounts and Audit (DPAA) in 1994.

Career
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto started his career as a cashier at the Jega Local Government Education Authority from 1989 to 1992.
In 1993, he became the Internal Auditor, Sokoto State House of Assembly.
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto was the Accountant in Charge of salary at Wamakko Local Government from 1995 to 1997 and the Deputy Director Finance and Supply, Sabon-Birni Local Government from 1996 to 1998.

Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto was the Director Finance and Supply, Kebbe Local Government and the Chief Accountant Local Government Service Commission from 2002 to 2007.
