|Dikko Umar Radda is a Nigerian economist and politician who was born on September 10, 1969, in Hayin Gada Town, Dutsin-Ma Local government area of Katsina state, Nigeria. He started his basic education at Radda Primary School and went to Zaria Teachers College and Kafanchan College of Education, where he obtainned his NCE certificate.
Dikko Umaru Radda later attended Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he received his B-Tech. Agric Economic and Extension (Hons), MSc Agric Extension and Rural Sociology, and Ph.D. in Agriculture and Rural Sociology. He was appointed caretaker committee chairman of Charanchi Local Government Council in 2003 and was elected as the Executive Chairman, of Charanchi Local Government in 2005.

He later served as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Sadiq Yar’adua at the National Assembly from 2012 to 2014. Radda held the position of the APC National Welfare Secretary from 2014 to 2015 and was appointed Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt Hon Aminu Bello Masari, after the 2015 general elections.
Dikko Umaru Radda was the director-general of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and was elected as the governor of Katsina State in the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections. He founded the Gwagware Foundation in 2016, which is a philanthropic platform for humanitarian intervention to vulnerable persons and communities in Katsina State. The foundation provides scholarships, job opportunities, empowerment, entrepreneurship schemes, and other forms of moral and financial support to improve the lives of the people of Katsina State.
The foundation helps people from rural communities in improving their living conditions through the provision of basic social amenities such as foodstuff, medical care, water supply, and employment opportunities.
