Saint Obi first appeared in the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, in 1995. He rose to prominence in 1996 after appearing in the popular NTA commercial series. Since then, he has appeared in over 250 Nollywood films, including Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Executive Crime, State of Emergency, War Front, and The President Must Not Die. In 2001, he produced his first film, “Take Me to Mama,” in which he starred as Jerry alongside Ebi Sam.

Few years ago, the actor quit acting to focus on the production and business part of the entertainment amongst other things. He revealed in an interview that he had to move behind the scene so that he could improve things. He denied quitting acting because jobs stopped coming, but because he needed to do other things. “As one grows older, you realize that you do not need to be in all the movies. If you have been following my career, as years went by, from doing 10 movies in a year, I reduced it to six. I later reduced to one per year, because I felt that it’s not how many times you appear in a movie but how well you act,” the actor explained.

As an entrepreneur, Obi was the Founder and CEO of Agwhyte International Limited – a Production, Talent and Brand Management and Public Relations Firm based in Nigeria and U.S.A. 


Personal life

Obi was once married to Lydia Saint Nwafor and they were blessed with 3 beautiful kids. 
He speaks English, Igbo, Hausa and a little of the Yoruba Language.

The actor was said to have died on Sunday, May 7th in the home of one of his siblings, in Jos, after a prolonged illness.Further details surrounding his death hasn’t been revealed yet.The veteran was aged 57 years and has three kids who he shares with estranged, Linda Amobi. The estranged couple were engaged in a bitter divorce custody battle before his untimely death.
