Ever since Khaid discovered his passion for music, he steadily pursued a music career. As a high school student, he spent his leisure hours composing original songs, which he performed to the admiration of his schoolmates. He also thrilled his classmates with freestyle rap songs during lunch break.
His close friends weren’t left out as he would often spice up the atmosphere with freestyle songs or covers of popular songs whenever they were hanging out.
By the time Khaid graduated from high school, he was one of the most popular students in his school. He had been known to represent the school in talent competitions and perform at school events.With the advent of social media use in the country, he began to post videos of his freestyle songs on his social media pages. He kept on creating music during this period, refining his sound in the process and becoming a better songwriter.
His videos began to go viral on the internet in a short while, and he began to amass fans who liked his music. Many people were intrigued that he was able to fuse Afrobeats and Trap sounds together to create delightful music.
Khaid struck gold in 2021 when one of his videos got the attention of popular comedian and content creator Sydney Talker. Sydney liked his music instantly and reached out to the younger act to build a relationship.
In January 2022, Nigerians woke up to the news that Sydney Talker had floated his music imprint, which he named Neville Records. He also announced that Khaid had been signed to the label, making him the first music act to join the label.
On the 25th Of January 2022, Khaid dropped his official debut single titled, With You. The song was produced by Ozedikus and Z3Na and was mixed & mastered by SWAZ and STG.
The visuals for With You were released on the 28th Of January 2022. Since its release, the song has enjoyed a good dose of success. It has been racking up streams daily. It has also received massive airplay on many radio stations in the country.
The song has paved the way for Khaid to bag gigs because he has been invited to perform at several shows and events in the country.
