Samuel Ibiyemi was a Nigerian journalist. He was the Editor-in-Chief of Nigerian News Direct. Samuel Ibiyemi was born on 19 August 1968 in Ile-Ife, Osun state.

Samuel Ibiyemi attended Olode Grammar School Ile-Ife.
Samuel Ibiyemi obtained a degree in economics from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in 1995.
In 1998, he obtained a masters degree in Economics from the University of Lagos.
Career
Samuel Ibiyemi started his career as Deputy Editor for Financial Standards in the year 2000. He worked as a deputy editor for 9 years.
In January 2010, he joined Nigerian Tribune newspaper as a Group Business Editor and later joined Nigerian News Direct as a publisher in 2011.
Prior to his death, Samuel Ibiyemi was the Editor in Chief at Nigerian News Direct and the chairman of Rejoice Hotel Limited.
Personal life
Samuel Ibiyemi was married to Titilayo Ibiyemi Ojo with children. He is a Christian of ile-Ife, Osun state.

Samuel Ibiyemi died of pulmonary embolism at Babcock University Teaching Hospital
