Educational Background

Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s educational journey began at Saint Peter’s UNA (now FAC) Primary School in Obe Nla/Obe Adun, Ilaje LGA, Ondo State, where he attended from 1970 to 1976. He then pursued his secondary education at Ikosi High School in Ketu, Lagos, completing it in 1982.

In 1986, Aiyedatiwa achieved his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Economics and Government at Lagos State College of Education (now known as Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education) located in Ijanikin, Lagos. Continuing his academic pursuits, he earned an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan in 2001.

Furthering his studies, Aiyedatiwa became an alumnus of Lagos Business School – Pan Atlantic University, situated in Lekki, Lagos. In 2009, he obtained a Post Graduate Certification in Chief Executive Education (CEP) in Business Management.

His academic journey reached its zenith in 2013 when he obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

Career

Aiyedatiwa’s career includes roles such as Inventory/Store Officer, Assistant Head Teacher, Marketing Officer, Assistant Investment Analyst, and General Merchandise Manager in various organizations. He is also the MD/CEO of the Blue Wall Group of Companies, established in 1996, encompassing entities like Blue Wall Nigeria Ltd, Blue Wall BDC Nigeria Ltd, and Blue Wall Safety Travels and Tours.

Aiyedatiwa ventured into active politics in 2011 as a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which later merged into the All Progressive Congress (APC). He participated as one of the National Delegates from Ondo State at the APC National Convention in Abuja in 2014. In 2015, he contested for the federal House of Representatives for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency during the Presidential and National Assembly General Election.

Aiyedatiwa was appointed as the Federal Commissioner representing Ondo State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from 2018 to 2019. He served as the running mate of Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu in the 10 October 2020 governorship election and was presented to the national party leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

On Sunday, 11 October 2020, Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa were re-elected as Governor and Deputy Governor of Ondo State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
On 25 February 2021, they were sworn into office as Governor and Deputy Governor of Ondo State, respectively.
