Anthony Adefuye attended Yaba Technical Secondary School for his secondary education. After completing his secondary education, he pursued further studies at Ibadan Polytechnic, where he obtained an Ordinary National Diploma. Following this, Adefuye enrolled at the University of Lagos, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1972.

Career

Adefuye began his career as a Workshop Manager at John Holt Plc after graduating from the University of Lagos in 1972. He later transitioned to Blackwood Hodge Ltd, where he served as Sales Manager for Special Products. Adefuye’s outstanding performance led to his promotion to Senior Manager.

In 1980, Anthony Adefuye established his own construction company, ARESCO Ltd. The company specialized in infrastructure development, including roads, bridges, and buildings, and undertook major public and private projects.

Adefuye ventured into politics early in his life, winning election as the Treasurer of the Students’ Union at the University of Lagos in 1969. He was later elected as a Senator in 1992, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District. Additionally, he has served on the governance advisory council (GAC) in the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
