Before assuming the role of Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Olukoyede worked as a lawyer at a law firm owned by former Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo. He served as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman from 2016 to 2018 and later as the Secretary to the Commission from 2018 to 2023. Olukoyede’s nomination as Secretary to the EFCC in 2018 was made by the-then President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
His appointment as the Executive Chairman of the EFCC in 2023 was made by President Bola Tinubu.
