Esther Igbekele hails from Ifon in Ose local government area of Ondo State. Born in Lagos, specifically Orile Iganmu, to Pastor and Mrs. Isaac Oluwafemi Igbekele, she grew up in a family of six, with four brothers. Her father served as a choirmaster at Christ Apostolic Church Oke Anu, alongside his profession as a tailor, while her mother was engaged in food vending.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Esther attended Central Primary School, Orile Iganmu, for her primary education. Her secondary schooling was supported by Apostle J.A. Bankole, enabling her to study at Lagos African Church Grammar School in Ifako Ijaye, Iju-Ishaga, Agege.
CAREER
Esther Igbekele began her journey in gospel music as a member of the band owned by Apostle Bankole, called Ilu Ayo Gospel Singers. She was a member of quite a number of gospel bands, she worked with Ayewa Int. Gospel Singer for five years, was with Imole Ayo Gospel Singer for about four years and Evangelist Kingsley Ogunde for two years. She has released about 12 albums which have been nicely received by the public.
