Troost-Ekong was born in the Netherlands to a Dutch mother, Eleanore Troost and a Nigerian father. He has two siblings, Emily and Everest.

CAREER
William Troost-Ekong began his professional football career with youth stints at Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur. He then played for FC Groningen and FC Dordrecht in the Netherlands. Troost-Ekong’s performances earned him a move to Belgian club KAA Gent, followed by loan spells at Norwegian side FK Haugesund.
He later joined Turkish club Bursaspor and Italian Serie A club Udinese. In 2020, he transferred to Watford FC in England, where he helped the team achieve promotion to the Premier League.
