Washington was born to Lennis “Lynne,” a beauty parlor owner from Georgia, and Denzel Hayes Washington Sr., an ordained Pentecostal minister and city worker from Virginia. Growing up in Mount Vernon. At the age of 14, his parents divorced, which marked a turning point in his life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He attended Pennington-Grimes Elementary School. His mother sent him to Oakland Military Academy in New Windsor, New York.
