Peter Akpanke earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.
CAREER
Akpanke ventured into politics under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was elected to the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly during the February 2023 general elections. He represents the Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency of Cross River State.
Since assuming office, Akpanke has focused on people-centered representation. His first 100 days were marked by a comprehensive needs assessment tour across his constituency to identify key areas of development. He engaged with abandoned federal projects, such as the Obudu Dam Resort, and initiated consultations with relevant federal ministries for rehabilitation efforts.
He also sponsored a bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Technology in Obanliku and championed petitions addressing issues affecting his constituents, including cases of unjust withdrawal from the University of Calabar.

CONTROVERSIES
In February 2025, Akpanke was one of three Nigerian lawmakers accused by Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive of Binance, of demanding a $150 million bribe in cryptocurrency to resolve regulatory issues. The Nigerian government strongly denied the allegation, describing it as false and unfounded.
